Book Week – Term 3 Week 5

Book Week is a celebrated annual event in schools across Australia, designed to foster a love of reading and literature among students. Organised by the Children’s Book Council of Australia (CBCA), it usually takes place in August and features a variety of activities, including book fairs, author visits, and themed dress-up days where students and teachers alike can come dressed as their favourite book characters. The week is an opportunity to highlight the importance of reading in education and personal development, encouraging children to explore new genres and authors. Each year, the CBCA announces a theme and awards prizes to outstanding Australian children’s books, further promoting the joy and value of reading.

The short listed and winning books from the Children’s Book Council of Australia are available for borrowing in the library. Enjoy the photos from previous Book Weeks.
