Performing Arts – Music, Drama and Dance

Arts teaching at Highgate School aims to develop students’ creativity, critical thinking and aesthetic knowledge across the five Arts disciplines. In addition to the Performing Arts, we teach Media Arts through our Technology program and Visual Arts is integrated into classroom inquiry units. Learning is centred on the belief that all students have creative and expressive potential. Students focus on the process of creating their own Art works while also exploring and reflecting on the work of others.

Performing arts is a mix of music, drama and dance taught throughout the year, with integration with our units. Through engaging with The Arts, students gain the skills and knowledge to imagine, observe, express and communicate ideas in considered and meaningful ways.
