Governing Council Structure
Highgate School’s Governing Council Constitution was updated at the end of 2022 and will take effect at the AGM on March 21st 2023.
Our Committees meet twice per term and dates are published on the School Calendar.
7.1 The Highgate School Governing Council must comprise of not less than 5 and not more than 9 council members including:
1 Principal of the school (ex officio)
Not less than 3 Elected parent members
Not more than 3 Staff members nominated by the staff of the school (as per ratio in the administrative instructions).
Not more than 2 Community member(s) appointed by the council, where the number of elected parents of the school is not less than the minimum necessary to achieve the minimum number of 5 council members in total, and to make the majority of council members elected parents of the school.
